This is a handy little adapter.small and lightweight, the exact color of the Space Grey MacBook Pro, so it looks good with it,The ports worked just fine, and do what they say they do. The pass-through Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port doesn’t slow down charging at all, which is great. Build quality is great, the device has HDMI out to power it to a projector / display / monitor and built in SD and Micro SD card reader making this a great accessory to have. One of the USB C ports is thunderbolt compliant and can act as input for power to charge your macbook pro,now it fits like a charm! I have been using the HDMI and USB 3 the most and so far I am very satisfied with it. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a USB-C Hub.

This type c hub is perfect for the new MacBook Pro. It fits tightly and even matches the color, plus the ports are spread far enough apart allowing you to connect multiple devices without a problem. Not to mention it comes with a nice leather carrying case that screams premium. I brought the hub with me to my sister’s photo editing studio and everybody loved it. this hub works great and looks beautiful.
It has a bunch of ports that should be able to accommodate most needs. Most helpful is that there is space between the ports in order to fit most cord sizes. I highly recommend this device.
I highly recommend it. It makes you feel a lot better about that mac dongle life.

This is a fantastic little hub. The fact that it is more of a permanent solution than a corded external add-on device, makes its very usable. Once attached, the GN28K can be used while sitting on the couch as well as when transporting my MacBook Pro around the house.
I first tried the TV and the picture was great. Then I plugged in various devices like a USB thumb drive and a mini-SD memory card and it worked great to get pictures on to the Mac. It was very fast for the transfer. The connection was flush to the side of my MacBook Pro. This hub has all the ports that I need and is slim and lightweight and I love the leather type case that I can store it in.

Overall, very well designed ,highly recommended. Worked perfectly for what I needed it for.

I ordered this to my workplace as I have one similar at home, it made my life so much easier I didn’t want to move it around every day so I ordered this one instead. Very handy little adapter, small, lightweight, and the exact color of my MacBook, so it looks good with it. The metal construction is great, it doesn’t heat up and works flawlessly.I really didn’t like the corded external add on device, so this is a big step up and makes this little device even more likable and the additional leather little pouch to keep it safe very nice touch.

We really like our new macbook, it’s an excellent machine, apart from one thing, – the noticeable lack of ports. Not sure why Apple have done this, no doubt they have their reason, but these ports are a necessity in using any pc, laptop, whatever, I mean really – no USB port for connecting an i-phone !

The Apple adapters in the shops are so expensive, and perhaps here lies one of the the reasons for the absence of the ports. I did purchase one adapter from Amazon which works fine, but it only offers the use of a USB connector, and it doesn’t let me charge my macbook at the same time as I use it, which can be an inconvenience. Then when I realised that I couldn’t connect my mini-projector to my macbook I decided to look into getting a multi-adapter that would solve all my problems.

I wanted an adapter that met several criteria. It needed to have at least a few USB ports, including thunderbolt and type C, I needed SD/TF ports (both standard and micro) for playing my stored music and data transference, and an HDMI socket for my projector. On top of this I needed it to be able to power my macbook at the same time as using the adapter. And finally I wanted something that was good quality and looked good – after all, I didn’t want a cheap ’n’ nasty sticking out of my very expensive macbook! So after reading the Amazon reviews I opted for this one, the QacQac/ Egolggo GN28K.

It’s an early review as I’ve only had it a few days but I am really happy with my choice. It seems to be excellent. Firstly, It fits into my macbook perfectly and looks the part; the silver perfectly matches the Apple silver. More importantly, all the ports function exactly as I want them to – I’ve tried them all out and they all work perfectly. And last but not least, it appears to be well made and very good quality.

It’s great to be able to load the pictures from my phone, use my printer, access my SD cards, charge up my power pack, and watch stuff from my projector. Everything is included here, and it’s small and remarkably light, so it’s fits into the pocket of my macbook case perfectly. So in my case I couldn’t want for more.

High quality Type C hub for MacBook Pro 2016.Ihave a MacBook Pro, this hub work well on my computer.
The functionalities(USB, SD memory, Thunderbolt) are meeting my expectation so far.
I have not tried to use HDMI cable yet. It is not big deal but I need to be careful while it is attached to MacBook Pro 13 inches. The connection points are 2 USB-Cs, therefore, if the pressure ore forces come from the top or the bottom side, the connectors of USB-C (Hub side) and MacBook side connections might be damaged. It is absolutely better than the other regular the hub with a cable in terms of the portability and the outside looks.

    1 x Thunderbolt 3 port up to 5k or 2 x 4k @ 60Hz video, up to 40Gb/s data speed
    1 x USB-C data transfer port
    1 x HDMI-HDMI@4K 30HZ Video Output Port
2 x USB 3.0 ports so you can transfer data over USB at incredible speeds, up to 5Gbps,

Didn’t realize the usb port was smaller than what I had been using so I bought this adapter and it works great. Can hook up just about anything to it with all the different ports.

If you’re the owner of a shiny new MacBook Pro, you will no doubt (providing that you’d read the spec sheet before clicking on the ‘buy’ button) be aware of the criminal lack of ports that it’s got. Yes, in their drive to achieve aesthetic perfection and ruling that ports, while incredibly userful, are apparently butt-ugly they’ve decided to eschew the normal (but ageing, I guess) USB-A ports that EVERY single device features in favour of newer, smaller and sexier USB-C ports – but, not getting ahead of themselves, only provide two of them. Of course, with Apple being Apple, do they provide a USB-C to USB-A adapter hub with their hugely expensive MacBook Pro? Of course not! You’ll have to send $19 for a USB-C to USB-A adapter which only has one USB-A port on it.

Disgruntled by this, I decided to see if there were any third-party manufacturers making USB-C hubs for the new MacBook Pros and was delighted to discover these ones my QacQoc. I have to admit balking at the price at first, but after looking at Apple’s own ‘official’ adapters, which only offer a piddly amount of ports for an exorbitant fee, this seemed like a comparitive bargain! With that thought fresh in my mind, I decided to take the plunge and wait for it to arrive in the post.

Of course, being a subscriber to Amazon Prime, I wasn’t waiting very long as it arrived the very next day! So let’s see what this little thing is like…

    >>>>>>WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

After removing it from the Amazon carton, I’m happy to say that I was immediately impressed with the small but classy looking packaging that this wee thing comes in. After sliding the outer sleeve off it, I discovered its equally smart inner box which, once opened, unveiled the hub itself nestled smartly on a tray at the top of it. Below the tray, there was a smart deep red-coloured PU leather pouch, an instruction booklet and a happy/unhappy customer service card thingy.

I’m sure you’d agree if I say that my first word was ‘Wow’. This is a very cool gadget. Hewn almost entirely out of aluminium, it’s very sleek, cool to the touch and smooth and is actually quite a tactile thing that’s nice to hold. It’s very light too, so won’t be a burden to carry around along with my MacBook Pro in its bag.

At the ‘rear’ of the hub, there are two USB-C connectors which line up perfectly with the ports on the MacBook Pro and push smartly into them. Coming around to the ‘front’ of the hub, there is a veritable cornucopia of ports and connectors which should vastly expand the stingy amount of ports than Apple provides as standard. From left to right there’s a USB-C/Thunderbolt port, two USB 3.0 ports, another USB-C port, a Micro-SD card slot and a full-size SD card slot. The piece de resistance is the HDMI port on the end of the hub that’s pointing away from you when it’s plugged in to the MacBook Pro, meaning that this little hub provides just about every type of port that you will need.

    >>>>>>HOW DOES IT WORK?

Well, there’s not much to say. All I did was plug the port in and it was automatically detected and just started working! Within seconds, I was able to plug in any of the many USB-A equipped devices that I have such as my drawing tablet and they were detected and started working as I hoped and expected they would. Impressively, I was able to plug in my USB-C equipped Android smartphone and charge it rapidly via the USB-C ports on the hub.

The Micro and full-sized SD card slots on this will be a boon to those of you who are either professional or budding photograpers as the Mac detects them correctly as drives when they’re plugged in so that you can drag and drop your photos and/or videos to wherever you want to copy them to.

    >>>>>>SUMMING UP

Wow! I am seriously impressed by this little hub. It’s beautifully manufactured to incredibly high standards, looks awesome when plugged into the Mac and increases its amount of ports to include standard USB ports, SD cards and an ever-useful HDMI port if/when I want to connect it to a bigger screen for graphics work.

If you’re on the lookout for a USB-C to USB-A hub for your new fruity laptop, look no further -this is absolutely perfect and actually represents fantastic value for money when compared to Apple’s hilariously overprices accessories. Absolutely recommended!

If you own a nice MacBook pro then your know one of the only down sides is the lack of ports to connect devices as well as connecting to another monitor or even a large screen tv.
You do not lose any ports buy using this you still keep the 2 USB type C connecters but you gain 2 USB 3 connectors a Micro and full size SD card reader and you also get a HDMI port that you can connect to your 4K TV or or Monitor.
This is made with a metal shel and looks feels and the colour is spot on also.
This is a must have accessory for the MacBook Pro its a shame they do not have more ports on them but this solves that issue it also comes with a nice case to hold it when not in use or traveling.

I would like to start my introduction to show how unique and sleek this product is. I use this regularly with my 2017 MacBook Pro 13.

Unboxing/Packaging: As you can see in my pictures, the packaging for this unit is excellent which is always nice as first impressions are always fantastic for a product which is priced around $89.99. The included Information guide (which is also shown in my pictures) are great too as they show how useful this product is and where the ports are to know what they do.

Build Quality: I was shocked when I saw this first. A Metal all-round design really shocked me when this product came into my hands. I can seriously tell this adapter will not break in later time. The USB-C end of this adapter is made of yet again great solid metal, even the connector is made to ensure there is a click so you know the adapter is plugged in fully and correctly.

Aesthetics: The looks of this adapter is great. This defiantly goes well with my MacBook, even the led included lights up which is nice to know where the ports are at night. High Quality materials make this USB-C Adapter aesthetically pleasing and durable at the same time.

    Functionality: This USB-C adapter has;

1 x HDMI connector capable of up to 4K at 30 hertz
    1 x SDHC card slot
    1 x Micro-SD card slot
2 x USB 3.0 data and power ports

This is a vast amount of io ports for one USB-C port and I am glad to report all works ok when using all of the ports at the same time. HDMI works great and MacOS detects the screen make/mode in good time and all functionality is there for changing the resolution and refresh rate. Changing the under scan in the software is do-able too.

The included leather pouch allows the usb c adapter to be scratch free.

Overall, I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone with a computer with USB-C ports. It’s the fact that the product is so simple yet works so efficiently that makes this adapter one of the best on the market. For just over $89.99 (at time of writing this review) I really feel QacQoc
have made this product with great thought.

If you would require any assistance with any questions on this product please do not be afraid to contact me.

This clever little device comes very professionally packaged in a nice box inside of which you get the Hub inside a soft carry pouch and a good set of instructions. The build standard is exceptional with a solid Aluminium chassis and lovely curves to neatly complement my sons’ MacBook.

For those not familiar with Thunderbolt-3, it allows for two-way power, so apart from charging the peripheral device, a peripheral device could also charge a host device. This means you can do away with power adapters and cables, and have a single strong and small solution that works for all devices. In addition, the Thunderbolt-3 port supports exceptionally high data transfer rates of up to 40Gb/s data speed.

This Hub slides nicely into the ports and makes a satisfyingly secure attachment. I would not want to be moving it around too much whilst in use but sitting on a flat desk next to your Mac it works well. Your own charging cable (Thunderbolt-3) then plugs into the “DC In” of the Hub and this allows a throughput of the power to continue charging your Mac whilst at the same time powering the Hub and the peripheral ports on it.

The end result is one cable and a seamless connection instead off two cables and two separate units. Add to this the fact that it is quite a demur little beastie at only 9.6 x 2.9 x 0.8 cm and it really does connect up like a small “beauty spot” on your machine as opposed to a whooping great monster sitting next to it. It also weighs a meagre 23g.

In terms of functionality, once attached up you have a selection of ports which include an SD and Micro-SD card slot for all your cameras etc., 2 x USB 3.0 ports providing data and power links as well as all the other joys of USB 3.0, a USB-C port and finally an HDMI@4K 30HZ video output for connecting to the larger screens. The only thing that would improve it would be a 1000M Ethernet port.

Don’s get me wrong; the Hub is by no means perfect. Just because you have all these additional ports doesn’t mean you can plug in everything under the sun. The unit has a 1.5 Amp load limit so think again if you want to charge too many devices from your MacBook. It will however, charge your average phone and allow various dongles etc., to be connected up quite happily. If I had one criticism about the configuration of the ports it would be that I can see no need for over complicating things by having an SD and a Micro-SD card port. Everyone I know possesses an SD to Micro-SD card converter so why not save manufacturing costs and just have an SD card port?

All things considered, and despite my minor criticisms, I think this is a very neat and functional accessory. In an era with an ever-growing demand for multitudes of accessory ports on our computers, this does a great job of meeting some of that demand. Given the slender and sleek design and portability of this Hub, combined with a solid build quality I find myself very impressed with it and I can thoroughly recommend it.

This is a solution for MacBook users out there who have USB-C ports. Starting off with the packaging, Hootoo really take into consideration the packaging and the looks of this product. When you buy the product you are given 12 months warranty however when you receive the product you are offered a chance to extend it to 18 months! Taking the product out of the box (depending on the product colour you buy) you can definitely see the resemblance between the colours of the product and a MacBook, giving a nice touch to those macbook users out there.
The hub consists of three USB 3.0 ports , one of which is a supercharging port, an SD card reader, which apple have taken out of the new MacBooks for some odd reason, an HDMI port, that gives display of up to 4k (30Hz) or 1080p (60Hz) and lastly a pass through dc input usb-c port so that you don’t miss out on that port. Only disadvantage I have faced is the length of the cable however this is because I have a windows computer, furthermore if you have a laptop then this is perfect length. The cable is very strong and can withstand a lot of stress, as it has done for the past few months of me using it. All in all I would strongly recommend the product provided either you have a laptop or don’t mind keeping the port at the back of your windows computer. Great product. Small and sleek. Charging your MacBook Pro or other type-C port devices while connecting multiple peripherals and transferring data. Mirror or extend your screen with USB C Hub HDMI port and directly stream 4K UHD or Full HD 1080p video to HDTV, monitor or projector. it is also great so you can use traditional USB cables with your existing devices. Allow you to connect keyboard, mouse, thumb drive to MacBook Pro or other Type-C devices, and access files from SD card reader. 2.5D unibody aluminum alloy exterior, ionized finish, reinforced TPE cable coating, and Mac-style LED activity indicator. EMI protection to prevent interfere with wireless devices. Easy to use and nicely priced. Very compact.
Top quality! This hub is extremely well built, the device and the packaging it was in is right up there with Apple’s build quality and packaging. This assures me that I am received a solid product! This hub is a very nice size also without losing features, It has 3 USB 3.0 ports, SD Card, HDMI and an option to supply it with power! The hub being USB-C should assure you that the speeds will be quick! I would recommend this hub to anyone.

Having owned my new MacBook Pro for a while now I’ve started accumulating the inevitable collection of USB-C adapters so a hub seemed a logical choice.

The build quality of this hub is very good and well designed. The brushed aluminium making up the body fits in very well with the MacBook case and feels like it belongs.

The hub comes in a stylish leatherette pouch with a magnetic catch (quite Apple like). The space grey option I chose matches my MacBook perfectly. It’s also available in Rose-Gold, Gold and Silver. Whilst I haven’t tried these I suspect they match in a similar fashion.

One of the features that attracted me was the fact that it connects directly to the two USB-C ports on the left hand side and not via a cable. I have read a few reviews of similar product connecting in this way complaining about a poor fit but this hub fits very well and feels quite stable. The hub has two USB-C ports, one of which can be used for power as well.

The two USB 3 ports are quick and have worked with all devices I have tried so far. It also has an SD Card socket which my previous MacBook had and I used a lot for photography and makes a welcome return. There is also a micro SD socket which works as expected. A new addition over a previous model I own is an HDMI port. I have used this with several monitors and TVs and it works perfectly, exactly as the built in socket on my old MacBook did. I have been using the hub for a while now and am very pleased with it and experienced no problems at all.

For anyone looking for a fast, smart and discrete hub for their new MacBook Pro, I highly recommend considering this product.
