  1. Hubba Hubba

Really professionally packaged and presented – first impressions count…

Simply plug n play using USB-C cable to open your type-C up to USB 3.0 whilst retaining a USB-C port at the end of the hub…

This is an ideal and necessary accessory for today’s laptops which often have limited ports-see pic-my new lap/netbook has but one, limiting accessibility…

The hub however with its 2 USB 3.0 ports, Micro SD and SD slots immediately rectifies this, allowing additional access to e.g. HDD

There’s also a manual and protective carry bag to keep safe from dust etc.

    Pricing/value for money
Looks great and performs well; whilst the Amazon price isn’t cheap, for what appears to be a quality item it is reasonable

For a decent hub extension at a good price, no hesitation in recommending

  2. starsGreat hub that opens up the connectability of my MacBook
    5 out of 5

The new MacBooks are thin and look great but only sport one USB type C port. This limits the connectivity unless you buy an adaptor. This QacQac device opens up the ability to connect 2x USB, SDHC and microSD memory cards as well as charging your MacBook.

The device is presented in a lovely gift box encased in protective foam. The colour matches the MacBook perfectly. I just plugged it in and it recognised the device.

The 2x USB 3.0 ports are fast as expected and enabled me to connect my USB external DVD-RW drive. Data transfer from my USB external HDD was super quick. Reading the memory card is fast as expected and transfer of photos was quick.

When not in use you have a drawstring soft protective bag to put it in to store in your laptop bag. This is soft and

Overall, it is a cosmetically good looking device and functions very well to open up the connectability of your MacBook or other laptop that has USB type C port. So far it has performed well.

  3. I am very happy with the performance of this adapter
    5 out of 5

“This USB C Hub High Speed Type C Hub with the USB ports and card reader slots is a wonder adapter for my mac. I bought this so that I can connect this up to my Mac and be able to accomplish more task quicker and easier. I was having to transfer to a different computer to accomplish certain task or only do one task at a time. I am very happy with the performance of this adapter, and how easy it is to use.
A lot of these older systems only have one USB port to plug devices into so the extra ports are quite welcome. This gives my chrome book much more functionality than before. Thanks for reading my review and I sincerely hope it has helped you in some way. […]”

  4. This is probably the best solution for connectivity of my MacBook
    5 out of 5

“This is probably the best solution for connectivity of my MacBook. You can forget about bringing all the dongles. You just need to use this sleak and well-designed hub. Although I have still a couple of things to test, the hub does its job superbly so far.
The most important feature for me is the connection. I have had no issues using any of the feature it provides. both USB ports are working as they should, I love the design. The colour and design just blends in with my MacBook which is even better than the dongles Apple sells for their own products!
Another good thing about the design is that the hub has this short additional cable to be connected with your notebook. It gives you stable connection, better connectivity because you can use both sides of the hub, and also better ergonomics because you can just treat it as a part of the charging cable.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a solution to connectivity issue with the new MacBook.”

  5. Outstanding build quality and finish, works well on both Windows and OSX
    5 out of 5

“The build quality along with the finish is outstanding and matches the quality which you come to expect from Apples own manufactured products . I’m overly impressed with how well this adapter is built and i was also fairly surprised by how compacted it is, i was expecting it to be more bulky but it’s actually fairly small and slimline which is ideal.
This adapter is compatible with the 2015 MacBooks onwards and it’s also compatible with Windows if you have USB-Type-C like i do on my Windows 10 Desktop, the transfer speeds were good, they pretty much matched the transfer speeds of the built in connectors on my computer.
This is a very handy adapter if you have the latest MacBook which only has USB-Type-C connectors, this adapter will give you back your USB 3.0 ports which are missing from the latest MacBook and the ports are backwards compatible with USB 2.0. You can use this adapter as a memory card reader as well, it has a full size SD card reader and a Micro SD card reader.
The adapter also has a USB-Type-C port on which can be used to charge your MacBook.”

  6. A Thing of Beauty
    5 out of 5

“This clever little device comes very professionally packaged in a nice strong box inside of which you get the Hub, a soft carry pouch and a good set of instructions. The build standard is exceptional with a solid Aluminium chassis and lovely curves to neatly complement my sons MacBook. Having said that I wanted it for my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus which also supports USB Type-C.
For those not familiar with USB Type-C, it allows for two-way power, so apart from charging the peripheral device a peripheral device could also charge a host device. This means you can do away with power adapters and USB cables, and have a single strong and small solution that works for all devices.
This Hub attaches to an external device courtesy of a short cable with a standard USB-C connector on the end which plugs into the USB-C port on your device and it makes a satisfyingly secure attachment. Your own Type-C cable then plugs into the “DC In” of the Hub and this allows a throughput of the power to continue charging your device whilst at the same time powering the Hub. The end result is one cable and a seamless connection instead off two cables and two separate units. Add to this the fact that it is quite a demur little beastie at only 10.8 x 2.7 x 1 cm and weighing a meagre 45 g. It really does connect up like a small intended accessory on your machine as opposed to a whooping great monster sitting next to it. You can choose to not use your own power supply and leave it connected and unpowered but this does limit the overall output capability of the hub.
In terms of functionality it is quite obvious what it provides. You started with just a pretty mundane and single function USB Type-C port on the side of your machine and once hooked up you now have an SD and Micro-SD card slot for all your cameras etc., and also 2 x USB 3.0 ports providing data and power links as well as all the other joys of USB 3.0.
Don’s get me wrong; the Hub is by no means perfect. Just because you have all these additional ports doesn’t mean you can plug in everything under the sun. The USB output capacity without connecting your own external power supply is 5V/1.2A. If you do connect an external power supply the output increases to 5V/2A. This means that you will have to think again if you want to charge numerous devices concurrently, especially if you are tempted to daisy chain another multi-adapter type device to it. It will however, charge your average phone and allow various dongles etc., to be connected up quite happily. If I had one criticism about the configuration of the ports it would be that I can see no need for over complicating things by having an SD and a Micro-SD card port. Everyone I know possesses an SD to Micro-SD card converter so why not save manufacturing costs and just have an SD card port?
All things considered, and despite my minor criticisms, I think this is a very neat and functional accessory. In an era with an ever-growing demand for multitudes of accessory ports on our computers, this does a great job of meeting some of that demand. Given the slender and sleek design and portability of this Hub, combined with a solid build quality I find myself compelled to be very impressed with it and I can thoroughly recommend it.”

  7. Handy Dandy
    5 out of 5

I’m impressed that this fills the need for useful doodads. The USB ports are handy, and the SD slot is there for photo transfer or other uses. If you have a MacBook with this charger port, it extends the utility for storage and you can still charge the MB. Good idea!

  8. Awesome
    5 out of 5

Very good quality and very convenient when you do not have any usb ports or card reader. I am very astonished by the quality of the product and the usability of it. I have not had a problem with the the product so far but this review will be updated if I do. The fact that I am able to charge and have 2 USB 3.0 and a card reader is great. I also came with a pouch to store it so I do not have to worry about the metal of the product scratching anything I put it with.

  9. Slim, ultra convenient hub for the Mac
    5 out of 5

This is awesome to have a USB hub for the Mac. We all know how easy it is to run into convenience issues when it comes to enough ports to use, especially on a Mac. Here’s what I like about it and why I chose to give it 5 stars. First, it’s easily transportable. I know that is obvious, but it deserves to be said that this is a sleek, slimline product that is very easy to carry about. It is also capable of simultaneously transferring data and charging devices.

    It features a Thunderbolt 3 port, USB-C port ,2 USB 3.0 ports, and a SD/Micro card reader.
I also love that it does not require any software, drivers, or complicated installation process. I am absolutely thrilled to have this quality piece of equipment and it is well worth the price.

Of course, it goes without saying how functional and nice a high speed sport is. I couldn’t be happier with this product. Did I mention, even the packaging is nice, as you will see in the pic. Very classy!
